Patti MacNicol, Chair

Patti MacNicol received her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant. Following 15 years in the practice of public accounting Patti spent 4 years as the Director of Finance for Branksome Hall. For the past 12 years she has been with Upper Canada College where she is currently the Chief Administrative Officer with overall responsibility for finance, risk management, facilities and information technology. She is a former Board member of Branksome Hall and is currently the Vice President and Treasurer of the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research (CANFAR) and a member of the Finance Committee of Trinity College at the University of Toronto.

Sharon (Sherry) Stewart
In 1995, Sherry, with the assistance of two parents founded and became Headmistress of RDS. The school has grown and prospered over the last seventeen years and Sherry is delighted to continue to help guide the progress of RDS as a member of the Board. Before founding RDS, Sherry taught at the Bishop Strachan School and Havergal College. She has been engaged in the education of young children for over twenty-five years. She has also served on the boards of Family Day Care Services and The Garden Club of Toronto.

Paul Smith
Paul Smith, a graduate of Queen’s University, joined the RDS Board in 2012. Paul has successfully fulfilled senior leadership roles in the past and recently was the President of Hargraft Schofield, a Toronto-based broker. Paul currently holds the position of Vice-President of the Toronto office at BFL Canada. Paul brings with him extensive background experience in the areas of construction, environmental and the education fields.
 
Martha Binks
Martha Binks has been a parent with RDS since 1997. All three of her sons started in JK and Sam, her youngest is now in Grade 8. She is the Director of Legal Services with the Allstate Canada Group and has been in practice for 23 years. She originally hails from Ottawa, and received her B.A. from Queen's University (Arts '82) and her LL.B. From Osgoode Hall Law School (1985). She has been active in the parents community, participating in RDS’s Art Shows as a co-chair for 5 years and she was a founding member of the Parent Guild Executive.

Carole McAfee
Carole McAfee has been with RDS since its inception in 1995, first as a parent and since 2009 as a member of the Board of Directors. Carole's daughter Mary was in the first class at RDS and her son Mitchell attended the school from JK through to Grade 8. Carole is a graduate of Victoria College at UofT and went on to do her law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School. She practices transportation and employment law with WeirFoulds LLP.

Roland (Roly) Browning Watt
Roland Browning Watt, Q.C. is a senior member of the RDS Board of Directors. A lawyer by profession, practicing in the area of estates and trusts, he has been an active volunteer in governance and fund-raising for many charitable organizations. He is Past-Chairman of both the Upper Canada College Foundation, the Don Mills Foundation for Seniors and the Better Living Charitable Foundation; a former Vice-Chair of the North York General Hospital Foundation and he is a trustee of The Pet Trust at the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph and serves on that University's Campaign Cabinet. He is Chairman of The Browning Watt Foundation.
