Accreditation

RDS is an Accredited Member of CAIS
The Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) are a community of 95+ independent schools that embrace whole-school improvement by choosing to meet and exceed 12 rigorous national standards. Driven by a comprehensive accreditation process, CAIS schools go above and beyond provincial requirements, ensuring an unparalleled standard of excellence in education. CAIS is the only Canadian accreditor for independent schools.
12 Standards to Benchmark School Performance
Internationally recognized, CAIS accreditation standards reflect current research and exceptional practices. CAIS’ 5-year accreditation process motivates schools to continuously improve their programs, such as academics, wellness, athletics, student life, and leadership. It also ensures accountability in key areas such as management, safety, finances, and sustainability. During re-accreditation, a team of leaders and educators from across the CAIS network visits each school to bring diverse perspectives and share best practices.
Accreditation Drives Achievement
CAIS schools do better because they invest continuously in being better. The accreditation process enables each school to aim higher and hold itself accountable. CAIS schools–and their students–are future-ready, equipped to thrive in tomorrow’s world.

These opportunities provide RDS students with a range of opportunities to connect, learn and excel at their passions. CIS Ontario also provides a variety of professional learning networks and opportunities for RDS teachers and administrators to stay up to date with new approaches to pedagogy. CIS Ontario member schools also have access to policy templates which are updated regularly in response to the latest legislation, Ministry policy and procedures, and case law by legal counsel from Borden Ladner Gervais, LLP (BLG).
