The Downtown Advantage

Set in the heart of Toronto, The Rosedale Day School enjoys a true Downtown Advantage that extends learning past the school's walls. Our rich programming  incorporates the diverse settings within Toronto that are often just a quick walk or subway ride away.

RDS Athletics programming

Physical Education programming at RDS takes advantage of many amazing sites nearby. Our students are often at the University of Toronto's world-class facilities, whether they are taking part in a Kindergarten gymnastics unit, playing soccer in the dome at Varsity Stadium, in the rink for our annual skating unit, or training in the pool with the Swim Team. The Royal Canadian Yacht Club is also a favourite site for badminton or squash units. A variety of other nearby indoor and outdoor spaces provide the setting for a well-rounded PE curriculum.

Experiential Learning

Experiential Learning is a high priority at RDS and is incorporated often and easily into academic programming. With easy access to the rich cultural context of Toronto, students can find themselves sketching at the Art Gallery of Ontario, exploring artifacts at The Royal Ontario Museum, taking a tour of media stations for a literacy unit, or even volunteering in kitchens and food banks for Service Learning. RDS prides itself in our commitment to provide plentiful opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences, fostering future-ready leaders who can apply their knowledge to the context of a changing world.

Toronto is our second teacher.
