Visual Arts
Promoting Expression and Connection
We are proud of our comprehensive and culturally responsive Visual Arts Program that:
- Fosters creativity, skill development, and art appreciation from a young age
- Expands students knowledge of art history and the cultural context of art
- Enhances students' understanding of the meaning of art in a global context, including its powerful role in pluralism
- Engages students with innovative projects that are cross-curricular and exploratory
- Provides in-person experiences at the AGO and other unique resources available to us in our downtown community
"My art classroom is a place to think critically, develop art technique, and create. I believe in finding a good balance between skill development and facilitating personal expression."
- Ms. Anna Recknagel, Art Teacher
