Celebrate the creativity, talent, and spirit of RDS students while supporting the learning spaces and programs that help them grow.
Event Overview
The RDS Annual Art Show is the school's social highlight of the year: a celebration of student creativity, community, and generosity. Families, alumni, and friends gather to enjoy student artwork, live and silent auctions, and a night of connection.
While tuition covers day-to-day operations, the Art Show funds enhanced learning spaces, creative programs, and experiences that make RDS extraordinary.

Art Program Leadership
Ms. Anna Recknagel (lovingly known as Ms. R) leads the RDS art program, guiding students to explore their creativity and develop artistic skills, confidence, and curiosity.

Outdoor Learning Environment - Rooftop Deck
- 1,300 sq. ft. private rooftop learning space approved for all seasons
- Flexible seating and greenery to foster creativity, wellness, and collaboration
- Used for art, yoga, gardening, and experiential learning
Middle School Kitchenette
- Dedicated space for Grades 6-8 to prepare snacks and warm lunches
- Encourages independence, responsibility, and life skills
- Supports student confidence and practical learning beyond the classroom
Sharon Stewart Library Collection & Digital Access
- Expand the library from 2,500 to 10,000 volumes
- Introduce premium digital research databases
- Provide students with the resources to explore ideas, develop literacy skills, and their passions
How to Support the 2026 Art Show

Past Impact
The 2025 Art Show raised over $40,000, funding initiatives that transformed students learning and campus spaces:
- Sharon Stewart Library: Opened our first dedicated library with 1,800 books
- Classroom Enhancements: Upgraded learning environments with technology, flexible furniture, and collaborative spaces
- Student Success Centre: Redesigned to meet individual learning needs, guided by parent architect Vanessa Fong
- Student Financial Aid: Supported students through the Sharon Stewart Bursary Fund, ensuring access to RDS for all
