We are so incredibly excited to share that our HPE Teacher, Ms. Heather Scharer, represented Canada in the Women’s Modified Softball "Un Kara" Tournament in Curacao, an island municipality of the Netherlands.
Ms. Scharer was one of two catchers on the team, catching in 4 of their 7 games, and being a designated hitter in the other 3. Canada had two losses and two wins in the round-robin play, putting them in third place going into the Semifinals.
In the Semifinals, they won their game against the Curacao Treasure 2-1, qualifying for the championship game. The final game went into extra innings, and unfortunately, Canada lost to Curacao's Gos Locos 5-3 putting them in Second place.
Thank you, Ms. Scharer, for setting such an incredible example for our young athletes about what is possible with hard work, passion, and dedication. We are so very proud of you!
